Slieve Donard from the Annalong Valley
Spelga Dam is a reservoir in the townland of Spelga (Irish: Speilgeach). Located in the breathtaking surroundings of the Mourne Mountains, County Down, Northern Ireland, it sits at over 1,200 ft (370 m) above sea level.
During 1894 the reservoir and dam were built as part of a project that had origins in the idea of supplying water to the City Belfast,.

Spelga House as it is known has spectacular views of the surrounding Mourne Mountains, and only 7 miles from the lively resort town of Newcastle and 3.5 miles from Hilltown. It is the highest located house in Northern Ireland.
